繼上次講完email上既”please contact me”之後, 今日再講多少少呢句.
叫人地有咩問題搵你, 可以寫成

Should you have any enquiries, please contact me.

有一樣野錯左好幾年, 到最近先至發現, 原來我一直寫成”Should you have any enquiry”
點解enquiry冇”s”會錯呢? 其實都因為個”any”
any同some既用法相似, 都係要用複數
所以any enquiries 係岩, 而any enquiry就錯了

Email (4) – “Please contact myself” 的疑惑

究竟以下既句子邊句先岩?
1 Please contact John, Peter or me with questions.
2 Please contact John, Peter or myself with questions.

最簡單既方法去諗, 就係幻想一下當冇左John同Peter, 句野仲會唔會咁寫?
Please contact myself with questions. <— 錯!

好明顯, 得你一個既時候你就會用
Please contact me with questions.

同樣地, 只要簡單咁記住就算加埋John同Peter, 句子都一樣會咁寫:
Please contact John, Peter or me with questions. 用最簡單既方法寫就一定冇錯

至於話Please contact John, Peter or myself with questions係咪一定錯呢, 到而家我都未搵到肯定既答案

不過可以參考一下”myself”同其他reflective pronoun既用法

其實reflective有反射既意思, 可以用一個簡單既方法記住:
當你望鏡既時候, 你會見自己既反射, 你就會講 “哇, 我見到我自己播~!”

我自己 –> 就係個myself喇:

I see myself in the mirror.

其他pronouns 包括 himself, herself, yourself, itself, themselves都係咁用.

呢一類既pronoun通常會係一個句子既object(受詞, 我通常叫佢做配角), 一定唔會係subject (主體, 我又會叫佢做主角).
例如, 我食個蘋果, I eat an apple, 我就係個主角, 蘋果係配角, 因為係我主動去”食”, 而蘋果係受害者

係英文grammar黎講, 唔會講做”Myself eat an apple” (我自己食蘋果??)

幾時用myself呢? 就係當同一個人/一樣野係句子中又係主角, 又係配角既時候用:

I see myself in mirror. 我係鏡度見到我自己
He bite himself. 佢咬佢自己

Reflexive pronouns另一個用法係加強語氣 (呢個又叫intensive pronouns), 例如你見到單兇殺案: “I myself saw the murderer!”

或者”I painted it myself”, 強調係我自己畫, 同”I painted it”係冇分別, 只係語氣唔同

基於以上既rules, 我認為”Please contact John, Peter or myself with questions.” 未必能夠符合reflective pronouns 用做object既原則

或者如果有人知道正確既答案, 不如話我知啦~

access :: assess

除左個串法同讀音似之外, 其實個意思係兩碼子既事

access (n.), (v.) 
可以解作進入, 入口, 存取
比較常用會有access right (存取權力), access to somewhere / something

其他變化會有accessible(易受影響的), accessiblity, etc.

用法例如有assess the your performance (評價你既表現)
如果作為一個名詞既時候會寫成assessment, 例technology assessment (對科技既評估)

上次講到able to係句子中正確既寫法，其實able to既用法有一個限制:

People are able to do things, but things are not able to be done

即是說, 我地可能有能力去做某一件事, 而唔可以講成一件事有能夠被做好
所以唔可以寫成: the error was able to be solved by programming team

收養的, 有主動既意味

Example:
adoptive parents = 養父母

兩者容易係聽既時候混淆

Articles (2) – 幾時用a, 幾時用the?

試下記住:

a/an –> 某一個種類既其中一分子
the –> 你擺明就知道講緊指定一樣野

又睇下面example:

A doctor must like people (= 任何一個醫生, 指係醫生呢個職業任何一人)
My brother is a doctor (= 佢係醫生呢個職業其中一份子)
I’m going to see the doctor (= 擺明就知道要睇邊個醫生)
